Spiritual Thought of the Month

Is it our place to decide what is holy and what is not? To most of us, there is something, be it person, place, thing, etc. in our lives that we consider holy that others do not. What matters is that everything that is here on this planet, people, plants, animals, rocks, air, etc. was made by holy hands. It is not our place as mere mortals to determine what is holier than something else and what does not qualify. Hold sacred your holy items, and respect and honor those that consider other things holy on their spiritual path. Let us not limit the miracles that are handed to us every day, but let us allow ourselves to see the holy in all that is around us, all that we touch, all that touches us. You'll gain a different perspective by viewing everything as coming from Divine.

Last Month's Spiritual Thought

Spring. It has finally arrived! And Spring is the season for rebirth, renewal, growth, cleansing. Shouldn't you be doing one, or all, of these things for yourself? Cleanse your Spirit with happiness and prayer. Renew your commitment to yourself and to your family and loved ones. Give birth to new ideas for creating a better life for you and yours. Plant the seeds to grow a new chapter for your life, a happy chapter that encompasses every aspect of yourself that needs growth, cleansing, rebirth, renewal. You will be glad you did! You will have a renewed outlook on life, a reborn Spirit of adventure, a willingness to carry forth with your ideas and dreams. Enjoy Spring!!!

"I have seen what a laugh can do. It can transform almost unbearable tears into something bearable, even hopeful."
--Bob Hope (1903-2003)

Proverbs 17:22 - "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones."

"I begin with an observation from the Christian mystic Meister Eckhart, who says that 'Divinity is an underground river that no one can stop and no one can dam up.' There is one underground river, but there are many wells to that river; an African well, a Taoist well, a Buddhist well, a Jewish well, a Muslim well, a Goddess well, a Christian well, and aboriginal wells.....To go down a well is to practice a tradition, but we would make a grave mistake......if we confused the well itself with the flowing waters". Father Matthew Fox, in his book "One River, Many Wells"

'People have illness because they do not have love in their life and are not cherished' Sun Simiao

"Spiritual practice is a communion with the reality which lies within the many varied forms and faces of The Divine."
