NATURAL GOAT PRODUCTION CLINICS
Dr. Waltz, owner and operator of Waltz's Ark, is offering clinics to help you learn the basics of natural/organic goat production. You've been to her lectures in the United States and Canada, visited her web sites, and read her book - now you can learn directly from "Dr. Goat Lady"!

This is not a breed specific workshop, and covers meat, dairy, fiber, and pet goats. Dr. Waltz has been raising goats naturally for 17 years, and is a Naturopathic Doctor and Nutritional Consultant, so this is information taught from a professional standpoint, not guesswork or myth, and is not selling a "program" or a "product". This is "hands on" and "up close and personal" with plenty of information and lots of opportunities for questions specific to your individual needs.

This is not a clinic intended to replace the medical advice of your licensed veterinarian. This is instead a learning opportunity that teaches you a production technique that eliminates the need for chemicals in the daily lives of your herd when correctly implemented and followed. The classes are geared towards learning to transition your current herd to organic/natural and to teach those wishing to start with goat production a different way to ultimately reach a niche market with your product.

This clinic will answer many of your basic questions about natural care, nutritional requirements, natural goat medicines, preventative medicines and procedures, and much more. If you are considering making a change in the lives of your herd and yourselves, then this is the class you want to immerse yourself in! The only pre-requisite is a willingness to learn and an interest in "going green" - although with goats it would be more like "going brown" (goat berries, that is!)!!

This is a 2 day clinic, taught at Waltz's Ark for access to live goats for demonstrations. The objective of this course is to teach you enough that you are able to tend to your herd in a natural manner, can grow your own common herbs, know how to choose and prepare basic common herbal treatments, prevention of ailments/problems/outbreaks, tend to and prevent reproductive issues and kid problems,as well as understand how good nutrition supports natural healing and overall good herd health.

The cost of the 2 day course at Waltz's Ark is $350.00

A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required to hold your place in the workshop.

Remainder of $200 is due upon arrival at Waltz's Ark (or can be paid in full in advance, the preferred method)

You are responsible for all other expenses such as travel, motel, and meals.

We will be learning and working outdoors and in a barn so please bring weather-appropriate and work-appropriate clothing!

Delta is conveniently located between Grand Junction, Colorado and Montrose, Colorado. Both of these cities have major airports and there are plenty of nearby motels, campgrounds, and restaurants. Because the Delta County area is a popular tourist destination, you are encouraged to make your reservations for flights, rental cars, and motels as soon as you know you will be attending.

For those of you who prefer the scenic route and would like to drive, Delta is located on Highway 50 on a Scenic Byway in beautiful western Colorado, surrounded by mountains, abundant wildlife, and crisp clear skies. If you are the adventurous type, the drive from the Denver or Salt Lake City airports, while possibly a bit long at 5 to 6 hours at average speed (longer if the mountain weather is acting up), the views are absolutely awe-inspiring!
