BUCKS

These gentlemen are the backbone of our organic caprine production, and as such we have sought out some of the finest genetics today to cover our does so that we may bring beautiful, functional kids to our customers. Commercial, show, and/or breed stock is all here in these 4-legged packages.
There is nearly always a selection of young bucklings to choose from, please visit the "Goats for Sale" page here on the site for more information. If you are looking for your next market winner, these boys produce what will fill your needs! Many of these bucks, or their predecessors here, have produced winners in doe, wether, and buck classes for 4H and FFA members around the Western slope of Colorado and beyond.

100% ABGA SA Boer "DLTR S537 SA" aka "Mr. T"

Please allow us to introduce a big step towards a new future for the Waltz's Ark herd - we call him "Mr. T". Date of birth February 2004. This is a large buck with quite a frame to fill. His very impressive pedigree includes "Ennobled" Bingo, "Ennobled" 324M, and "Ennobled" 321M, all of Powell/Holman fame. This buck comes to us via Kickin "A" Ranch, where he has produced kids that have won or placed very high in every class they have shown in. A son of his just won 2007 Delta County Fair Grand Champion and two of his percentage daughters placed 1st and 2nd in their class; another son won Reserve Grand Champion at the 2007 Montrose County Fair as well as Best Carcass. His first kids for us will be hitting the ground in spring 2008! Pictures taken July 2007.

"War Dancer", 100% ABGA Boer

We are very proud to introduce another building block in the future of Waltz's Ark - this is War Dancer, grandson of the infamous War Lord out of a daughter of Geronimo! Born March 2007. This is a very well balanced young man who will be introduced to his first ladies this fall for spring 2008 kids. His father, War Cloud, is being shown by Erica Ashby (owner of Kickin "A" Ranch), and has already won some impressive accolades in his few showings. Siblings of Dancer have also been shown - one earned Grand Champion at the 2007 Mesa County Fair as well as at the 2007 Delta County Fair. Picture taken July 2007.

"BLM Commander's Quince", AKGA Purebred Kiko (DNA Certified)

We did extensive research while working towards our goals of building a better meat goat, and yes, we did discover that the Kiko breed could bring us many positive attributes to use as tools in achieving our goals. Please allow us to proudly introduce to you the first Kiko buck purchased for the new Ark herd - Quince. He was born January 2007 at Bloom Valley Farm in Douglass, Kansas (Thanks Polly and Alan!) where his sire has been very busy building a new legacy. Quince's pedigree includes SKY T20 Commander, JLR Willie B, BBM Dale, and Southwest Cisco, just to name a few from his impressive New Zealand lineage. He will be getting his first dates with some IKGA registered Kiko and high percentage Boer ladies this fall, so stay tuned to see his kids in spring 2008! Picture taken August 2007.

"TKC Coal's Kudzu", AKGA Purebred Kiko (DNA Certified)

We are so very pleased to introduce our second Kiko buck, born January 2007. Kudzu comes to us from The Kiko Corral in Nowata, Oklahoma (Thanks Derrick and Wendy - let's have a cheaper breakfast next time!) where they are busily building up their own herd of pretty and practical kikos. Kudzu's lineage includes Betula Hill Moneymaker and Sunboy Stanton (aka "Nick") as well as an impressive dam lineage from Goats Unlimited. We are so looking forward to the first kids from this pretty face! His first children will also arrive spring 2008. Picture taken August 2007.

"Windcall Commander" aka "Sedum", 100% ABGA Boer

This well-built ABGA registered gentleman comes to us from Windcall Boer Goats. Born April 2004. He is producing kids with long toplines and wonderful weight gains. "Ennobled" Ubora and "Ennobled" Downen Big 85 are a part of his pedigree. We brought him into the herd as a replacement to Sumac (see below) when we lost those important genetics as he has many of the same ancestors, both coming orginally from Tri-Quest Boers. Sedum almost worked himself out of a job, but with all the new additions to the Ark herd in 2007, we know the best is yet to come from this pretty boy! Several of his daughters will be keeping company with our new Boer bucks this fall for 2008 kids. Picture taken July 2007.

100% black and white paint IBGA Boer "Negro Blanco Pintar" aka "Sage"

Sage is our handsome black and white paint Boer, registered with the IBGA. Born April 2002, he has been consistently giving us beautiful kids. He gives us color as well as conformation and very good weight gains. We've had many solids (blacks and reds) and paints from his efforts, and his market wethers are bringing very good wean and market weights. "Ennobled" Ubora is in his pedigree and it shows! He's not used as much as he was in his younger days as he made so many nice daughters and granddaughters that he has nearly run himself out of a job - but he still covers a few during each of our breeding seasons, and continues to produce what we are seeking in conformation and looks. With the new additions coming of breeding age in early 2008, he'll be working here for a while to come yet. Pictures taken July 2007.

"Yucca", solid black 100% IBGA Boer

This very handsome all black IBGA registered full Boer, born January 1, 2005, is giving us great kids with fast weight gains and color! His father is Sage, the paint buck above. Because his father has been so prolific in the doe category for us he hasn't covered as many does as he could, but that dynamic is changing for him over the next couple of breeding seasons. You can't go wrong with some of his kids in your herd! Latest picture taken July 2007.

Yohimbe, 100% Nubian

Yohimbe joined the Ark in 2006 to replace the Nubian bucks who had worked themselves out of a job. Birthdate March 2006. He is quite a colorful fellow, with a happy and friendly personality, from a family of heavy milkers. His first kids have been predominately does, and all possess color and dairy quality conformation. We are anxious to find out how they work as milk producers on our established dairy does. Pix taken July 2007.

Navarre, 100% Nubian

Navarre is a new addition to the Nubian lineup, coming to us from Krem Brulay Dairy Goats/Thunderstruck Boer Goats (big hugs Mary!) in Caldwell, Kansas. Born March 2006. This is a really nicely built young buck that we feel is going to really diversify our dairy lines. His first kids will also arrive spring 2008, and we are anxious for them to arrive! Picture taken July 2007.

REFERENCE: Sumac, 100% South African Boer

His ABGA (American Boer Goat Association) and IBGA (International Boer Goat Association) registered name was WCQ Tri-Quest M58, but we called him Sumac. Although he was not raised by us, he was surprisingly gentle for such a large boy, and his kids proved to be the same. A quick look at his first batch of youngsters (under a former owner) was enough to convince us to purchase him as a yearling. His sire was "The Big O" and his dam was "WCQ Tri-Quest Cakoo". His great grandfather was national grand champion, and his grandfather, Oscar, is Ennobled, as is Kaptein and NBBG Tsjaka, two of his other grandfathers. He was born in April, 2000, and recently laid to rest after a serious spinal cord injury sustained while enjoying his favorite activity - breeding does. He weighed in at 375 pounds at his death. His children were consistently large, well conformed, and meaty, putting on weight quickly, and possessing his gentle personality and above average intelligence.

Sumac was also the sire of the 2002 Delta County Fair Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat! Pumpernickel, out of Nubian doe Hale (who won First Place in the 5 and over in the Nubian Milking Division, and 3rd overall in the Nubian Milking Group in 2002, as well as First in the 5 and Older milking division and Grand Champion Nubian in 2003!), had a weight of 60 pounds at 4 months of age, and went in the ring at 94 pounds. He also won Second Place in his Market Goat top weight class. Sumac's son Zucchini, also out of a full Nubian doe, was the winner of the 2003 Delta County Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat class, and earned first in his top weight class!

We have several fabulous percentage and full blood does from him, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren certainly carry on his traits as well. His percentage kids have proven to be meaty goats, and the does have his gentle personality as well as wonderful milking and mothering abilities. We, as well as his favorite does, will miss him for years to come.
